Suit Up Charlotte is committed to delivering an innovative program for suiting up men both inside and impeccably outside. This largely increasing sector of our community includes young men who have aged out of foster care, veterans in transition, those homeless, the formerly incarcerated and men still navigating through the criminal justice system, men from all backgrounds that are entering or re-entering the marketplace, those recovering from addiction, and those often considered hard to employ.

We are passionate about serving strong men, better fathers, making an impact on recidivism, and building up men who will lead in our communities. How men look and feel makes the difference not only to them but how they are perceived by others. Suit Up Charlotte guarantees making the first impression a lasting impression.

OUR MOTTO

Transition. Transform. Transcend.

OUR VISION

To serve as a vehicle for men changing their attitudes, changing their lives, and always making that first impression a lasting impression!

OUR MISSION

The mission of Suit Up Charlotte is to serve and inspire men in transition!

THE HABERDASHERY

In the United Kingdom, a haberdasher is a person who sells small articles for sewing such as buttons, ribbons, and zips; in the United States, the term refers instead to a retailer who sells men’s clothing, including suits, shirts, and neckties.

Haberdashery is an old-fashioned word for the store you visit when you want to buy a suit or a shirt and tie. At the Haberdashery of Suit Up Charlotte, it is our pleasure to serve men in transition at no cost!

  • Etiquette – We believe that the principles of etiquette — consideration, respect, and honesty — are values that transcend time, socioeconomic lines, gender, and cultural lines.

  • Domestic violence – We define domestic violence as, a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain control over another intimate partner. “Topics discussed include: Physical abuse, Sexual abuse, Emotional abuse, Economic abuse, Psychological abuse, Threats, Stalking, and Cyberstalking.”

  • Divorce/Absent Fathers – The objective is to equip men with relationship skills to improve interactions with the family by reducing negative exchanges (anger, criticism, contempt, and blaming) and strengthening positive behaviors (expressions of support, humor, empathy, and affection). Understanding the correlations between the lack of a father and emotional trauma later in life.
